Know Thyself

The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses.

Behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road.

Long before I dance under those lights.

Theory is not mastery. Repetition is.

If its systematic you can improve it, over and over again.

Muscle memory, miling, the neural connections go from forming a little string, to turning it into a cable wire.

But what I’ve learned is you don’t control everything in life.

You don’t control what you look like, or how to keep your heart beating, your lungs breathing, and your body from degenerating.

You don’t control who comes into your life and you certainty don’t control all of the lessons that the universe has in store for you.

So you can’t possibly account for how everything will work out, but you know your destiny.

You know what you want and you know why you want it on the deepest level.

And thoughts you can control.

Thoughts contain matter. Thoughts influence actions.

So the self talk is not hubris, or false pride, but its affirmation.

Its an understanding who you really are.

Who else is going to tell you, you are the greatest?

But you always carry your humility with you.

And you carry the same will to act when you are winning or even when you feel like you are dying.

That’s the mind of a psychological warrior.

But at some point the purpose is in a different intensity.

Letting go can be just as beautiful.

The legacy cannot be complete without it.

Everything that has a beginning has an end.

To appreciate life and all its glory, it must come full circle.

But here’s the distinction:

You are gone but never dead. You are away but never forgotten.

The message leaves an imprint forever.

How you lived; be true to yourself and to truth itself.

Its polarizing yet unifying.

Its tough yet gentle.

Bold yet humble.

And now the world needs a new champion.

Not only in the ring, but outside of it.

Who is going to step up and follow what had to be done?

Who is going to perpetuate the legacy?

An authentic life is a full life.

Know thyself and greatness will be yours.

— But if you even dream of beating me, you’d better wake up and apologize. —

Law of Attraction.

Reporter: How are you sir?

Conor: How are you?

Reporter: Good. Congratulations.

Conor: Thank you.

Reporter: I was asking you on Thursday about his right hand —

Conor: Yeah.

Reporter: Can I tell you what you told me?

Conor: I said, his right hand would get him into trouble, that’s the shot I predicted. I said he’d overload on his right hand, I said I’d slip, I said I’d bang the left hook, and that’s what happened.

Reporter: Word for word, you said:

I felt when we starred down, I felt his right hand was twitching, which was a subtle tell for me. He is ready to unload that right hand and I feel that could be a downfall for him. If he lets that right hand go I will not be there. I simply enter the way I enter and that is enough. They either over extended or they shrink away. But either way it is not good for them. I will create traps and dead space inside that octagon and I will walk him into that dead space but all of the sudden he will be in danger.

Reporter: How do you do that? How do you predict these things?

Connor: If you can see it here, and you have the courage enough to speak it, it will happen. I see these shots, I see these sequences and I don’t shy away from them. A lot of times people believe in certain things but they keep to themselves. They don’t put it out there. If you truly believe in it, if you become vocal with it, you are creating that law of attraction and it will become reality. I knew he would over extended and I knew I would catch him.

Young King

‘My dreams don’t live down there.’ That’s what my granddad used to tell me .When I used to walk in the projects and look down I’d see crack needles, I’d see bullets, I’d see blood stains – but when I looked to the sky I saw my dreams. I saw my opportunity.

When I would go to school they would tell me I was too dumb. They told me I’d be like my father, like my family; selling dope, going to the penitentiary. Never seeing what the real world would be… See I was a kid that couldn’t read till he was 16, but my dream was bigger than my reality.

I’m telling you Young King, keep fighting because your life depends on it. Just like when you get hit with that bullet, and your boy is telling you “Don’t stop breathing, don’t stop fighting, you still got life to live.” Because if you lay there in your pool of blood you are going to die there.

Young King, Young King learn how to fight for your purpose and not the money. Because I know we come from them crack houses, I know we come from nothing, but listen to that voice inside your head that tells you that you have everything you need inside of you. I’m going to tell you, there is going to be people that say your dream is false. But I’m here to tell you, your dream is real. Your dream is realer than anything you could ever imagine.

You eating those ramen noodles, you eating that trash every night for dinner, but in your mind you are envisioning a state, you’re envisioning the finer things in life. Pay the price today to live the life that you wanted for your family, you wanted for your kids. Give back to the child that you was when you laid on your mother’s lap. Give back to the child when you whispered to your friends and you told them what you wanted to be.

I’m a kid from Pontiac, Michigan, and they said crime was the only thing that we can be. They say the penitentiary is the only thing we will ever see.

Well I’m telling you now King, the best things come from the bottom. Just like when you open up that cereal box as a kid, you couldn’t wait to get that prize at the bottom. Because let me tell you, God leaves you gifts at the bottom of the stairs, and its up to you to walk up the stairs and show the world your gift.

You’re great King. You’re Great.

Thus spoke Zarathustra

Of the three metamorphoses of the spirit I tell you: how the spirit becomes a camel; and the camel, a lion; and the lion, finally, a child.
There is much that is difficult for the spirit, the strong, reverent spirit that would bear much: but the difficult and the most difficult are what its strength demands.
What is difficult? asks the spirit that would bear much, and kneels down like a camel wanting to be well loaded. What is most difficult, O heroes, asks the spirit that would bear much, that I may take it upon myself and exult in my strength? Is it not humbling oneself to wound one’s haughtiness? Letting one’s folly shine to mock one’s wisdom?…
Or is it this: stepping into filthy waters when they are the waters of truth, and not repulsing cold frogs and hot toads?
Or is it this: loving those that despise us and offering a hand to the ghost that would frighten us?
All these most difficult things the spirit that would bear much takes upon itself: like the camel that, burdened, speeds into the desert, thus the spirit speeds into its desert.
In the loneliest desert, however, the second metamorphosis occurs: here the spirit becomes a lion who would conquer his freedom and be master in his own desert. Here he seeks out his last master: he wants to fight him and his last god; for ultimate victory he wants to fight with the great dragon.
Who is the great dragon whom the spirit will no longer call lord and god? “Thou shalt” is the name of the great dragon. But the spirit of the lion says, “I will.” “Thou shalt” lies in his way, sparkling like gold, an animal covered with scales; and on every scale shines a golden “thou shalt.”
Values, thousands of years old, shine on these scales; and thus speaks the mightiest of all dragons: “All value has long been created, and I am all created value. Verily, there shall be no more ‘I will.'” Thus speaks the dragon.
My brothers, why is there a need in the spirit for the lion? Why is not the beast of burden, which renounces and is reverent, enough?
To create new values — that even the lion cannot do; but the creation of freedom for oneself and a sacred “No” even to duty — for that, my brothers, the lion is needed. To assume the right to new values — that is the most terrifying assumption for a reverent spirit that would bear much. Verily, to him it is preying, and a matter for a beast of prey. He once loved “thou shalt” as most sacred: now he must find illusion and caprice even in the most sacred, that freedom from his love may become his prey: the lion is needed for such prey.
But say, my brothers, what can the child do that even the lion could not do? Why must the preying lion still become a child? The child is innocence and forgetting, a new beginning, a game, a self-propelled wheel, a first movement, a sacred “Yes.” For the game of creation, my brothers, a sacred “Yes” is needed: the spirit now wills his own will, and he who had been lost to the world now conquers the world.

In the Dark – by Jaret Grossman

Will you film when no one is watching?  Will you sing when no one is listening? Will you write when not one soul will read it? Because if you can, then its yours.

Will you do it in the dark? When no one is there to tell you what to do or who you should be. When no one is there looking over your shoulder making sure you actually do it. There is no one grading your homework here. You’re the teacher and you are the student.

So will you do it when no one cares? When there is no funding, no support. When there are no crowds and no one is there to cheer you on and pump you up – will you do it then?

The greatest advice I can ever give you is that you must be successful before you can ever be successful. Meaning, whatever you want to do in this life, or whoever you want to be, you most do it before you are ever rewarded for it. Because if you  can’t handle that struggle, you don’t deserve the comfort.

See, you want to be an inspiration – but  you can’t influence anybody if you can’t influence one person first: yourself. How are you going to be that rock to someone if you can’t do it now, by-your-self? You want to be relied upon? You have to make it through that mud first.

See, last time I checked its ‘monkey see, monkey do,’ not ‘monkey hear, monkey do.’ Your character is defined by what you actually do. And no action speaks louder than when you do it when no one is paying attention. When there is no accountability except to yourself, and your own word becomes your bond.

You will be rewarded in public for what you spend years doing in the dark, alone, in your private time. Do you do it for Instagram or is that genuinely who you are? Have the water bottles just lying around the car if that’s who you are, don’t clean up when someone stops by the house.

You can fool people some of the time but you can’t fake life. You can’t bypass universal principles that this universe was created upon. All the behaviors, all of them tie together. Because you bring yourself into everything that you do. So how you do anything is how you do everything.

And if you want to be a legend then there has to be something different about you. Its called congruency. Will you hold the door open when you don’t get a thank you? How do you treat people you don’t have to be nice too?

Real legends, real ones do the right thing. Especially when there is no reward. So you better earn your stripes when no one knows your name. When no one is giving you money to continue. And you better believe in yourself when no one else does. And you better believe in some moral principles long before you are under those lights.

Because the war is won before it is ever fought.

June 17th, 2017

“Alright, so we’ll start off with that first question. Should people make New Year’s resolutions?”

People should make New Year’s resolutions if they are actually watching this video on January first.

If they’re watching it on December 23rd, they should make December 23rd resolutions.

Waiting, miraculously, to when the calendar flips to start making your life better is silly at best, and pisses me off at worst.

And so, whenever you’re watching this, because it lives on the internet and thus that means you can watch this on June 17th, 2017,

Make a resolution every day of your life because you only get one at bat.

The reason people struggle with having a New Year’s resolution and sticking to it is because it was a tactic to do a New Year’s resolution.

Hence why my first answer was right,

Which was, when you actually decide to make a change in your life,

Whether about weight, or job, or going out with somebody, or relationships,

That’s when you actually pull it off.

Its religion, not tactics.
